Hamptons Style Kitchen
The perfect home with a Hamptons style kitchen consists of classic kitchen styling, a light colour palette and lots of natural materials and light – perfect for entertaining guests.
Classic Hamptons style kitchen idea is open and inviting often with large central kitchen island benches that become a gathering point when entertaining. This is a crucial guiding star with kitchen renovations in mind.
From Long Island, New York. The Hamptons style home is a lighter and simpler version of the French provincial style, with cleaner lines, a lot less detail, (such as the corbels, scrolls fretwork.). Usually opting for some simple capping on the top of high cabinets, perhaps a dressed up range hood cabinet above the cooking surface with some light capping. Doors are usually a mild “shaker” style door
The interior design ideas consist of usually painted white kitchens, but dark contrast colours have been brought into play in recent years. Stone benches with simple square edges and solid timber benches as well. Curvy handles, but only slightly. Splashbacks can be tiled or porcelain large format.
Modern Hamptons Kitchen
Inclusions that fit within Hamptons style modern kitchens are high ceilings, exposed beams, and directing natural light from windows and skylights that reflect light around the room.
Large bold beautiful kitchen lights – like a chandelier, large lampshades or pendant lights – are featured above the central, island-style kitchen benchtops.
This is accentuated by contrasting dark wood benchtops and timber flooring that makes the kitchen feel wider and more open plan. Add some bar stools for the full effect.
Hamptons Kitchen Design – Benchtops and Splashbacks
Although The Hamptons design style kitchen uses natural marble benchtops as a stylistic cornerstone, it doesn’t preclude you from adding a touch of your own individuality, with an infinite amount of colours, textures and patterns available.
Splashbacks are often based on classic ceramic subway tiles and feature light colour palettes. Off-whites or pale greys, greens or blues are popular choices. Shelving can include open shelves or cabinets with glass doors.
These traditional lines, clean open colours and subtle detailing creating classical styling – a timeless look in your kitchen.
